Are you hooked yet? If so you need to know the gory details of booking and have a look at what happens when you arrive to prepare yourself... Also it is essential that you have a look at our FAQ page which makes many important things clear, that otherwise might be buried in the website. Once you are ready to book you are welcome to print off the form here, but if you want a copy of our full colour brochure with all routes and booking forms then if you live in the British Isles phone 01579 350379, if elsewhere E-mail your postal address to us and we'll have it sent to you by return - however the brochure does not contain any information other than that on the site. Also we fully expect everyone to E-mail us for help and advice before booking, we really prefer to have such contact so we can make sure we supply the best holiday for your needs.
All holidays run from Saturday to Saturday, giving you a full weeks/fortnights cycling also see what happens when you arrive. Once you have decided to come, you just need to fill in the form below, and send it along with a non-returnable deposit of 80 per person in the form of a cheque made out to Breton Bikes. If you cancel only this will be forfeit and in that case the deposit still stands for the following year so you don't lose out. Payment can be by credit/payment cards via the Paypal system (please note - NOT for £ payments) - see their site for details www.paypal.com, and please email us with any questions on this. This is the safest method of credit card payment we know, you don't even have to give us your card details - once signed up for Paypal you can use it for all sorts of things so it's well worth the effort. Alternatively you can pay in the form of a bank cheque but only if drawn on a French bank (check with your bank). Or a direct bank transfer - though remember to specify fees to be paid at your end.
We'll then send you confirmation and a load of bumph telling you how to survive the holiday, what to bring etc. The full amount of the holiday is payable 6 weeks before arrival. These prices are based on the currency rate on 1st Jan 2008 (approx 1.35 euro to one pound), simply rounded to the nearest convenient sum. They will remain UNCHANGED for the entire 2008 season. If there are wild swings in currency you may be able to save by paying in Pounds or Euro but as we like to keep things simple our published prices will not change.
To check up there's an excellent currency converter here
We'll then send you confirmation and a load of bumph telling how to survive the holiday, what to bring etc. 6 weeks before you are due to arrive you have to send us the balance of the cost. If you cancel giving at least one week's notice then you will lose the deposit only. However if you book for the following year then we count that deposit as already paid - we don't want to lose you!
As for our booking page not being an interactive form, this is a deliberate choice on our part. With such a page it is all too easy for people to book a holiday and pay for it without really considering what is best for them. We actually encourage you to get in contact and ask questions before you book.
Please send completed forms to us at Breton Bikes, 14 Grande Rue, 22570 Plelauff, France
All weeks currently have some availability.
Our main season begins with the week of the 24th May and finishes with our two-week led trip beginning on the 14th September, outside that period there are two options.
First our Gite based (self-catering holiday cottage) holidays run all year - an option for people wanting to cycle with us outside out normal season (and at a very special low season price).
The only other option out of season (i.e. end of September to mid May) is our fixed centre hotel tours. This is available for the special price of £280 including all hire, maps, and accommodation including breakfast. The only difference during this period is that our normal full back-up doesn't apply. We leave a spare bike at the hotel in case of problems, and will be 'around' on and off during the week but we don't guarentee to be on-call during the day.
- For lots of information go here or email for advice though this is a very fluid subject!
CAMPING - The prices in Euro for the 2008 season are as follows. Remember holidays include all hire, maps routes and full backup. If you are camping we do NOT pay campsite fees (including 'Fixed-Centre') as if these were pre-paid you would be forced to follow the route exactly, and so lose much of the flexibility of the cyclecamping option. The cost of campsites varies between 2 and 7 per adult per night, but if you budget for 40 per adult per week you won't be far off.
CARAVAN - simple, just add up the cost as if for camping and add 225 - (note this includes campsite fees).
GITE - just add up the cost as if for camping and add 450
HOTELS - Including all hire, routes, maps, back-up etc and based on Bed and Breakfast accommodation and assuming everyone will be sharing a double room* with others in your family/group. We don't include evening meals because if we did it would lose you the flexibility of eating where and when you wanted, but all hotels will provide an evening meal (or there's a nearby restaurant) for around e15 or less if you do wish to eat in. This is important when comparing our prices with other cycletour companies. If you add about £150/225 euro to our prices you will have a reasonable basis for comparison with companies offering evening meals - this allowing for a 30 euro meal a night i.e. far from the lowest price on a menu...
*Add 165 per person for any in your party who will be in a single room.
