Gite Based Cycling Holidays in France
Base yourself in one of our Holiday Cottages!
Bunkhouse - Large Gite - Small Gite - Fixed Cycling Routes
Here at Breton Bikes we have our new bunkhouse and two Gites (holiday cottages) available for hire, 17 Rue D'Eglise, and Quarry Cottage - both perfectly placed for exploring the centre of Brittany by bike and available all year round and with much lower prices out of season. Costs split the difference between camping or hotels starting at £300/350€ per adult. The bunkhouse is cheaper being the same price as the standard camping holiday! With the gites come all equipment and a wide range of routes - just a sample to be found here. From 2016 we have taken over the running of the Gouarec campsite and so all the facilities there (less than 500m from the gites) are also available for free - including canoe hire. There is also the unique chance to hire that most French of all cars for the day - our 2CV! If you want you can forget the cycling and do a car based holiday, but what a car;-)

Quarry Cottage - Pretty as a picture
The perfect spot for cycletouring, walking in the woods or just relaxing...
This, our smaller is just 500m from Gouarec (see yellow 'house' on the bottom right of the Google Map which allows you to see street view and pictures...) and so a 5 minute walk will get you to the baker, supermarkets and restaurants. But unlike 17 Rue D'Eglise, rather than being in the centre of the village this cottage is tucked away down a little quiet lane just 100m from the canal and also at the start of one of the lovely marked walks through the 'Foret de Quenican' . With the gite comes all equipment and a wide range of cycling routes.
17 Rue D'Eglise - Live in the Heart of a French village
The perfect base for cycletouring for families and bigger groups
Even more than Quarry Cottage this large house is right in the heart of the village. If you want to wake up and fling the shutters open to be greeted by the sounds of a French village and the smell of baguettes baking then you've come to the right place. With the gite comes all equipment and a wide range of cycling routes. The house is situated in the quiet heart of the village of Gouarec - a village unique in Brittany - see the Google Map here where the gite is marked in the centre. Not only is it right on the canal towpath/cyclepath, but also at the start of the V6 "voie verte", the cyclepath converted from the old railway line running through the centre of Brittany. Being placed at this crossroads would be enough in itself, but Gouarec is also a compact village - everything is within 200m of the house.
