1 – Cycle into the centre of Gouarec past the old Market. At the crossroads turn right down the mainstreet and after 200m turn left signposted CORLAY. After a km you take the two roundabouts over the dual-carrageway following signs for CORLAY which you will reach after 15 kms.
You pass through Laniscat and then Plussulien on the way, the former has a baker and a bar, the latter just a bar. In Corlaix you'll find shops, bakers and restaurants.
2 – In CORLAY you reach a T-junction where you turn left up the mainstreet then turn right at the T-junction after 200m onto the main road signposted QUINTIN. This is busy – be careful... After 200m turn left signposted LE HAUT CORLAY then across the tarmac area to follow again a sign for LE HT CORLAY.
Now a long but reasonably well graded hill...
3 – Just stay on this road all the way (and following signs to) LE VIEUX BOURG which you reach after 10kms – don't turn right into the centre but rather stay on the D28 and this will take you past LE VIEUX BOURG and then you will reach QUINTIN after 8 kms... Just follow signs into the centre and explore;-)
Quintin has all you might need including a walled centre with chateaux, lake etc... Well worth planning to spend an hour or so as well as eating there...
4 – To get out of Quintin go down to the foot of the town by the Lake – here turn right to follow the lake/river and out of the town. It's a main road so be careful. At the traffic-lights turn left to continue along the river signposted LOUDEAC (D8)and follow this for 2 kms, then straight-on under the main road and continue for another km – then turn right signposted LANFAINS (D78) which you'll reach after 3 kms.
If you choose to continue into the village you'll find a small bar and a pretty church but not that this is a detour.
5 - As you enter LANFAINS turn right signposted LE BODEO (C4) which you reach after 4 kms. As you enter the village you reach a crossroads where you turn right to take you up to the church.
Another pretty little village church and bar opposite (of course)...
6 – Continue through LE BODEO and after 1.5 kms you turn left signposted ST MARTIN DES PRES (D63) which you reach after a further 1.5 kms. Cycle into the village and then bear left following signs for ST MAYEUX (D63). After 2 kms turn right signposted ST MAYEUX (D63) then after 3.5 kms you turn right signposted ST MAYEUX (D76) which you reach after 3.5 kms.
Another small village, big church and bar...
Cycle into the village past the church and out of the village following signs to LANISCAT (D76) which you reach after 9 kms. Just after the church turn left signposted ST GELVIN (D95) then after 200m turn left signposted VALLAYE DU DAOULAS (D44).
A stunning ride by the river and all down-hill...
After 2 km you reach the main road where you turn left the almost immediately right to take you to BON REPOS – here after 300m just cross the canal, turn right and take the canal towpath the 3 kms back to GOUAREC...
